Rafael Villota-Jetzer, dean of the College of Hospitality, Culinary Arts, and Tourism (CHAT), and Paola Torres, hospitality coordinator, both from the University of San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), took advantage of their attendance at HIP – Horeca Professional Expo in Madrid to visit the facilities of GAIAS Europa, the university’s academic hub in Valencia.
During her visit, Paola Torres interacted directly with students in the Gastronomy and Sports Management programs, learning about their progress, receiving feedback, and sharing practical experiences with them in Valencia. This contact allowed for close dialogue and direct monitoring of the students’ academic projects.
For his part, Rafael Villota-Jetzer held a working meeting with Rafael Jordà, director of GAIAS Europa, and Andrea Peñaherrera, academic director, to exchange ideas and advance program projects, ensuring the continuity and quality of academic training.
The day also included a visit to the Chozas Carrascal Winery, where they were able to learn about wine production and link it to the practical experience of the Gastronomy students, strengthening the connection between theory and the professional world.
